This is how I found him -   standing by the side of the road with a small bag.  The evening darkness was setting in and I couldn't really make out much of the figure, but I knew that his chances of getting a ride in the dark were fairly slim.  I had recently been forced to hitchike myself, and it is a frustrating experience after nightfall so I thought "Well, I'll just give this guy a ride".  I had no idea how much this fleeting decision would impact my life - that I would be changed forever.
